Why APF?
At APF, we’re uniquely positioned to amplify philanthropic impact in areas related to mental health and psychology. Through our vast network of funded researchers, access to innovative interventions through our Direct Action Programs, and our solid foundation in evidence-based, data driven science, APF can identify where and when support is needed for the communities that you serve.
Our Mission
We leverage the power of philanthropy to advance psychological knowledge by investing in innovative research and applications that prioritize people and their wellbeing.
Our Vision
A world where people are healthy, happy, and living with dignity.
Why Now?
Need is at an all time high, especially for communities which have historically been under-resourced and face ongoing discrimination. Direct Action gets care to communities – now.
With your support we can address these gaps, achieve our goals, and respond to the ongoing national and international mental health crisis in real time. Join us on the ground floor of this new collective – together, psychology can move people, and people can move the world.
Direct Action Corporate Alliance
Corporations and other for-profit entities have long been a critical pillar of philanthropy. Whether through their own foundations, individual philanthropic efforts of leadership, or funding of other organizations, the philanthropic world cannot exist without this support.
The American Psychological Foundation’s Direct Action Corporate Alliance is a strategic network of values-aligned for-profit organizations looking to support innovative, evidence-based work rooted in psychological knowledge.
We can’t do this work alone, and we know many organizations share our goals. By working together, we can amplify our collective efforts and help more people thrive.
Direct Action Nonprofit Alliance
Mental Health organizations, grant-making foundations, and other nonprofits often face similar hurdles: advocacy restrictions, resources without implementation plans, programs without validation, and communities without access or awareness. Some nonprofits excel at marketing campaigns, developing a bank of research, or building sustainable, replicable, and proven programs, but rarely can one organization do it all.
Together, we can address our gaps, achieve our goals, and respond to the ongoing national and international mental health crisis in real time. By amplifying our collective impact, we can:
- Share and cross-promote public resources making psychological science more accessible
- Connect organizations with researchers to conduct pilot or validation studies to back up interventions and programs with evidence-based approaches
- Coordinate community advocacy including joint statements, press releases, etc.
- Co-brand events or projects
- Provide grant-writing support
- and so much more!
This effort will be built together, and as such there is no fee to join – all you need is the willingness to work together to advance our shared goals.
We hope you’ll join us in building this new collective – together, psychology can move people, and people can move the world.
