The current and legacy leadership of Mt. Hope Family Center (MHFC) are recognized for their immeasurable contributions to the field of psychology and the Rochester community. For over 50 years, MHFC has been an intellectual powerhouse in developmental psychology. MHFC leaders have advanced groundbreaking theories of developmental psychopathology and led pioneering efforts in maltreatment prevention, including landmark trials of Child-Parent Psychotherapy, innovative programs to prevent child sexual abuse, and approaches that promote healing and resilience. With over $94 million in grant funding, MHFC’s research has spanned across genetics, biology, relationships, and systems, reflecting their transdisciplinary approach to advance the field, prevent abuse, and best support families and survivors. Their work has touched and transformed the lives of countless children and families.
