The Sharon Stephens Brehm Undergraduate Psychology Scholarships will recognize outstanding psychology undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need. The Brehm Scholarships will help defray the students’ direct educational costs (e.g. tuition, institutional fees, required textbooks, etc.).

Eligibility

APF encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds with respect to age, race, color, religion, creed, nationality, ability, sexual orientation, gender, and geography.

Applicants must:

  • be an undergraduate student majoring in psychology at an accredited college or university
  • have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA
  • demonstrate financial need

Application Instructions

Application Materials:

  • personal statement that describes your past, current, and future involvement in the science and application of psychology on campus and elsewhere, academic achievements, and leadership activities
  • CV 
  • transcript
  • letter of recommendation from a psychology faculty member

    We highly recommend that you send the letter request to your recommenders as soon as you start your online application. All application materials, including letters of recommendation, are due by the application deadline. Applicants may submit their online application forms before the recommender has submitted the letter. Letters of recommendation will only be accepted until the deadline.

Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be evaluated on:

  • academic excellence
  • demonstrated financial need
  • demonstrated interest in the field of psychology
