The APF Legacy Club honors individuals who have generously remembered APF in their estate planning. The investment of these dedicated partners ensures APF can continue to impact the future of psychology through vital funding and support for the next generation of academics and clinicians.
There are a variety of ways to include APF in your legacy planning and we are happy to work with you to fulfill your wishes. Below is information on types of bequests which can be made to APF.
Once you have included APF in your Legacy plans, please let us know as soon as possible by completing the form on this page and selecting “Leave a Legacy with APF” from the options. You will then be added as a member of the APF Legacy Club. Legacy Club members receive the following:
- recognition on the APF website and in other publications including our newsletter
- invitations to special APF receptions and events, both in-person and virtual
Ways to Leave a Legacy
Percentage
This method provides the most flexibility since the gift fluctuates according to the size of the estate.
Fixed Amount
The most common way to make a bequest is to include a fixed amount to be left to the designated organization.
Residuary
A donation is made of the remainder of funds after all debts, taxes, expenses, and other bequests have been fulfilled.
Life Insurance
Naming APF as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy can provide a fixed amount separate from other assets.
Retirement Plan
Name APF as a beneficiary of a percentage of your retirement plan or IRA. This eliminates income taxation on distributions after your lifetime and can generally be updated online through your plan provider at any time.
Life Income
You can make a bequest as a gift to charity that can also provide lifetime payments to any individual(s) you designate.
