“The internship site I was fortunate to match with had everything I had wanted in my clinical training – but the distance posed a significant financial barrier, made more challenging by disruptions to my research funding. This support has made it easier for me to prepare for a 1000+ mile journey, transition to a new community, and prepare to learn new culturally-responsive and meaningful psychotherapeutic work. This will prepare me well for a career as a clinical-community psychologist, mental health clinician, and a program evaluator.”

“This funding is transformational in allowing me to relocate across the country for my clinical internship. The cost of applying to a clinical internship, and relocating for one is a major financial barrier that disproportionately impacts individuals who are already under-represented in the field of clinical psychology. The National Register Internship Travel Scholarship makes this move, and completing the next step in my career, possible.”
